The Rap Game UK - Season 4
Season 4
Episodes
Episode 1
DJ Target and Krept & Konan return to Manchester to search for the next big rap star. Six aspiring rappers discover that winning this series will be tougher than ever, with a twist revealed that none of them expect. Their opening challenge sees some artists make a bigger impression than others.
Episode 2
The artists are put out of their misery as they discover their pairings for the iconic clash challenge. If preparing for it in 24 hours was not enough pressure, they also find out they will be performing in front of a crowd. Guest mentor Nolay helps them prepare as the three clashes are closely fought, with some big twists and even some unexpected wins, with Lethal Bizzle adjudicating.
The second challenge takes a different approach, with Target, Krept and Konan keen to dig a bit deeper into the artists' identities, as they ask them what it means to them to be British.
Topics like heritage, class, racism and even the government are all covered in an intense performance day, presided over by guest mentor, Jaykae at Manchester's Victoria Baths.
One artist in particular blows the others away and gains top spot in the rankings, whilst another is left unimpressed with their bottom placing.
Episode 3
It's week three of the competition and the battle for top spot intensifies as the artists are tasked with writing a fighting talk track fit for a ring walk, to be performed in front of MMA legend Michael ‘Venom' Page and rapper Unknown T. But things don't go according to plan for everyone, with one artist succumbing to illness at a critical point, and another cracking under the pressure and fumbling for the first time in the series.
For their next challenge they must put differences aside to collaborate with each other as they write and perform to live band, The Compozers, watched by rap icon Kojey Radical. And there are some big surprises along the way that throw the rankings, and the competition wide open.
Episode 4
As the artists pass the halfway point in the competition, the battle for top spot has just been thrown wide open with some surprise drops in the rankings. They arrive at a disused factory to discover their first challenge will be to write a cypher about fashion, but with far less writing time than usual. With the pressure on, half the artists crumble in what proves to be their toughest challenge yet, with guest mentors rapper Shaybo and supermodel Leomie Anderson critiquing their attempts.
For their next challenge, the rivalry ramps up as they're split into two groups to create their own diss track videos - each aimed at the other. Guest mentor P Money then views and judges each completed videos. Tensions boil over as the gloves come off and the rankings take another turn for the unexpected. The artists also find out that by the end of next week, half of them will be leaving the competition.
Episode 5
It's the last week before DJ Target, Krept and Konan decide which three will make it through to the final week of the competition. With their first challenge of the week even more important than ever, the artists are tasked with digging deep and writing a letter to themselves from their past. A series of emotional performances ensues, evoking some strong reactions from Krept, Konan and guest mentor Meekz Manny.
With the battle for the final three places still wide open, the artists are set their second challenge, to perform live in front of a crowd, the true test of any performer and something not all of them have done before. D-Block Europe oversee the six live performances that all provide our judges with food for thought ahead of the whittle, including a mixed bag of crowd favourites. The following day Target, Krept and Konan deliver their final verdict, the all important news of which three have made it through to the Rap Game final, and which three will be sent packing.
Episode 6
It's the final of the competition and as the race for top spot draws closer, DJ Target, Krept and Konan spend time with each of our remaining three artists before they head back home to see friends and family, and we find out more about where they come from and the people and places that influence their music.
Next they prepare for their final challenge, to record a track for Radio 1Xtra's Kenny Allstar show. Everyone, including guest mentor Tiffany Calver, meet to listen to the tracks go out live, as DJ Target, Krept & Konan use the radio listeners' feedback to help decide who wins the final, and the coveted £20,000 prize.
