Episode 25
Joy Reid leads this episode of The ReidOut with the historic case argued before the United States Supreme Court on Thursday. The question before the court? Can the state of Colorado keep the former president, who that state found credibly liable for inciting an insurrection, off the ballot in November. On the face of it, it seems like a pretty simple question, but it is a question that has never come before the Court, and the debate centers on Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which was written by Congress in 1866 and ratified in 1868. Joy Reid and her panel discuss this, plus they preview a just-announced press conference from President Joe Biden, responding to the findings of the special counsel investigation of classified documents found in his possession.
