The head coaches of both teams have been calling for a more entertaining style of play in this new season, and the match promises to be one of the key games in the first month of the season. The champions Wigan got the defence of their title off to a winning start, and they look to make it two wins out of two when they face Widnes. The Vikings lost their opening match of the season but won twice in Wigan last year and will be hoping for a third consecutive win at the DW Stadium. Newly promoted Leigh take on St Helens, Leeds face Salford, Huddersfield play Wakefield and Hull FC are at home to Catalans.
