A man named Mike Ferris finds himself walking down a deserted road toward an apparently uninhabited town. However, upon his arrival, he soon suspects that he is being watched, but not sure of by who. He then starts going crazy trying to figure out what's going on.
One for the Angels
When Mr. Bookman, a sidewalk salesman gets visited by the angel of death, informing him that he will be dying at midnight that night, he convinces the angel that he has one big pitch to make before he dies. The angel agrees to a delay, but instead causes a neighbor's daughterto have an accident and "Mr. Death" comes to take her. Mr. Bookman realizes he has to make the pitch of his life.

The town drunk in the old-west faces his past when Fate lends a hand.
The Sixteen-Millimeter Shrine
An aging, forgotten movie star from the 1930's longs to go back in time to her heyday, despite the pleas from her manager. However, his attempts to get her to live in the present backfires when he brings an old co-star by for a visit when she is shocked to discover how much he has aged over the years.

It is ultimately revealed that Markie is there to help Helen remember the events of her mother's murder before the killer returns to take care of loose ends.
A Stop at Willoughby
An overworked, stressed ad executive named Williams falls asleep on a train ride home from work and dreams of a small 19th century town called Willoughby. A few days later, upon learning that a young protégé jump ships and goes to a competing agency, he snaps and ultimately quits his job. Later, as he travels home, Williams decides to get off the next time the train makes its stop at Willoughby – only to jump off the rear of the train and is ultimately put into the back of a hearse owned by a funeral parlor called Willoughby & Son.
The Chaser
A young man tries to win the attention of an uninterested young woman. After being pointed in the direction of a mysterious professor, the young man gets a love potion to the woman of his dreams. However, it doesn't take long for him to tire of her nonstop affection, and he soon returns to the professor for help.
A Passage for Trumpet
A down-and-out trumpet player (Jack Klugman) gets another chance at life after attempting suicide.
Mr. Bevis
After having a bad day, Mr. Bevis receives a visit from his guardian angel and is offered the opportunity to relive his day, with a few changes. However, it doesn't take long for Bevis to wish for the way things were.
The After Hours
While shopping at a local department store, a young woman is looking for a thimble to give to her mother as a gift. After being advised to go to a non-existent floor to make her purchase, she has an encounter with a rude clerk and attempts to complain to the store manager, only to be locked in the store as it closes. It is at this time that the young woman comes to the realization that she is one of the store mannequins, who had the opportunity to live life as a real person for a month.
The Mighty Casey
McGarry, the desperate manager of the last place and desperate baseball team called the Hoboken Zephyrs, goes to some drastic measures to ensure his team will start to win some games by bringing in a mysterious and young pitcher that goes by the name of Casey. When it is discovered that Casey is actually a robot, McGarry takes some extreme measures to ensure Casey becomes more human. However, things don't go quite like he expected.
