O quarteto está em clima de superstição. A confusão começa com Mário Jorge, seguida por Arnaldo, tendo seu fim e sendo solucionada por Copélia, que como é uma mulher de soluções, para resolver esse dia, resolve chamar Ivone (Marília Pêra) (ou a francesa Madame Madelon), mãe de santo que mais bebe do que reza. O quarteto fica meio ressabiado com a mulher, mas, acabam aceitando a proposta. Quando o espírito toma o corpo de Ivone, muitas revelações são feitas ao quarteto.
