A possível chegada de novos moradores ao Jambalaya é o principal assunto do episódio ‘Cada qual tem seu preço’. Na tentativa de evitar que o bandido Osvaldo Medonho compre um dos apartamentos, D. Álvara tenta negociar com a vizinhança para que todos votem contra a presença do “mau elemento” no prédio. Celinha e Mário Jorge não pensam duas vezes e aceitam a proposta da síndica, que oferece uma área adjacente ao apartamento dos dois para ser usada como terraço. Quem não gosta nada deste acordo é Adônis que namora Osvaldineide, filha de Osvaldo Caveirão. O jovem ainda se esforça para convencer a mãe de que é importante para ele que a namorada vá morar no Jambalaya. Mas Celinha prefere garantir o seu terraço a ter que conviver com um bandido no prédio. A confusão fica ainda maior quando Osvaldirene descobre que quase toda a vizinhança está unida para impedir que seu pai compre o apartamento no condomínio.
