Funeral director Blum watches as her husband Mark, a local police officer, dies in a horrific motorcycle accident. Despite the debilitating grief, she tries to maintain her family life with her two children and the business with her assistant Reza. But soon she discovers a secret that puts everything in a new light.

The completely distraught Dunja tells Blum about terrible events: Mark brought her to safety and has now died for it. But they would continue to hunt Dunja's tormentors. Blum initially doubts Dunja's statements, but then Dunja identifies one of the tormentors on a photo. Blum gets involved in a dangerous game with him. She needs to know if he killed Mark.

The man's sudden disappearance after meeting Blum does not go unnoticed. His mother, the very influential local businesswoman Johanna Schönborn, does some research. It's unclear who is covering for whom in the village. When she looks at her first victim's mobile phone, Blum gets on the trail of another perpetrator - she goes to see him.

Blum is interrogated by the police at the station and finds it difficult to explain when she receives an alibi from an unexpected source. Blum is released with no solid evidence and soon finds herself in a far more threatening situation. At the same time, Reza makes an outrageous discovery - will he be able to warn Blum in time?
