Het derde seizoen van Tegenlicht start met een uitzending over de voortdurende strijd in Kosovo. In 1999 kwamen de Serviërs en de Albanezen door bemiddeling van de VN, tot een staakt-het-vuren. Maar tot echte ontwapening van de bevolking kwam het niet, en daardoor smeult het conflict onderhuids nog altijd door. Een uitzending over de hypocrisie achter de vredesmissies van Amerika – want terwijl dat land bovengronds optreedt als bemiddelaar wordt ondergronds het conflict in stand gehouden doordat één partij, in dit geval de Albanezen, uit datzelfde Amerika grote hoeveelheden geld en wapens ontvangt.
