Richard spends the day with chef Michel Nischan, who Is committed to making farm fresh food affordable for underserved communities. Richard and Michael visit Two Guys from Woodbridge, a hydroponic farm in Hamden, CT. Amy Traverso and chef Lydia Shire pay a to visit Savenor's Market, Julia Child's beloved butcher shop in Cambridge, where they select a duck to be cooked in honor of Julia.

Amy heads to Siena Farms in Sudbury, MA, to experience the best fall produce, then she and chef Ana Sortun prepare a fresh-from-the-garden meal. In West Cornwall, CT, Richard makes some furry new friends at Country Quilt Llama Farm and goes with them on a woodland walk. And Amy makes glazed chocolate potato doughnut muffins.

Amy and chef Douglass Williams visit One Mighty Mill in Lynn, MA, where they source organic stone-ground flour before making delicious cacio e pepe gnocchi at his restaurant, MIDA. In Vermont, Richard explores the little-known world of jack jumping, an unusual winter sport that involves sledding down a mountain while sitting on a single ski. And Amy whips up spinach and ricotta dumplings.
Only in New England
Amy visits Essex, MA, to learn about the history and legacy of shipbuilding in this seaside town. She also stops at Woodman's of Essex, known as the birthplace of the fried clam. And Richard Wiese goes off the grid in Woodstock, CT, at a woodworking shop where he and Meb Boden create a sauté spoon by hand. Then, Amy cooks up Rhode Island-style clear clam chowder.
An Eye for Beauty
Amy visits Tower Hill Botanic Garden where she tours the extensive grounds and the often-overlooked beauty of late fall's native New England plants. In New Hampshire, Richard shares the award-winning interactive art experience known as Ice Castles. And back in her home kitchen, Amy turns Maine blueberries into her own delicious family treat, blueberry buckle.
