More than two million U.S. soldiers served in the Vietnam War that lasted nearly a decade from 1964. On the afternoon of March 27, 1964, the small communities around Anchorage, Alaska, were torn apart by the 9.2 magnitude earthquake. Often called the Forgotten War, the Korean War began on June 25, 1950, when an army of North Korean soldiers poured over the 38th parallel into South Korea, their mission to impose communism on their neighbors. Over 325,000 American troops went to the aid of the South Korean people on land, air, and sea during the three years of conflict. But for two young men, their fellow servicemen became rocks of support and the inspiration that stayed with them over decades.
Escape From Cuba

After Fidel Castro seized power in 1959, many Cubans found themselves at the mercy of the communist dictator. But two young boys who fled in the most difficult circumstances owe a debt of gratitude to U.S. strangers who helped them find sanctuary and gave them hope.
