Bea's Letter
In 1914, Bea Smith is an opinionated medical student having an affair with the handsome Dr William Chambers. By 1915, her romance over, she is a nurse in Alexandria Hospital tending the most horrific of war wounds. When family friend Manaaki Kokiri arrives seriously wounded, Bea swings into action to save him.

Manaaki's Letter
Charles Smith is wounded at the Gallipoli landing and is sent to hospital. Bea finds nursing deeply frustrating and she is grateful for William's support. Awa persuades Mannaki to help her, but tragedy ensues. Harry persuades him to sign up for the big adventure and both end up at Gallipoli where we learn Manaaki has a deadly talent.

Harry's Letter
Harry clashes with Charles when he returns to Gallipoli. Cissy is competing as carnival queen and is thrilled by the attentions of Guy Featherstone who sets out to seduce her. George is bullied for being German and runs away to enlist, breaking James' heart. Manaaki and Harry go 'over the top' with tragic results.

Awa's Letter
Bea is concerned for Manaaki and diagnoses shell shock but William doesn't agree. Richard has a business opportunity and finds an unlikely ally in Awa, who seduces him. Bertie Mueller is arrested for sedition and John blames James but it's Richard who profits. Bea is thrilled Manaaki is to be sent home a hero, and she has William to thank.

Charles' Letter
Charles is shaken by the horror and stupidity of war and entrusts Violet with a letter exposing the truth. Meanwhile, returned war hero Manaaki is questioned in relation to murder.

Cissy's Letter
Finale: As rumours of a Gallipoli evacuation spread, Charles, Manaaki and Bea start making plans for the future. Meanwhile back home, Awa and Cissy find their circumstances are changed forever.

The thousands of books that line the shelves of his shop provide him with all the knowledge he needs.
Book has gathered around him a host of lovable, damaged misfits whom he informally protects, cajoles, and mentors. His wife Trottie runs the wallpaper shop next door. She's a charismatic adventuress whom Book loves deeply but not physically, for they are in a 'lavender' marriage to help conceal Book's sexual orientation in a time when it was illegal to be gay.
Bookish marries post-war nostalgia with the reckless and life-affirming atmosphere of the times, creating a fast-paced and stylish detective drama.

Foundation
When revolutionary Dr. Hari Seldon predicts the impending fall of the Empire, he and a band of loyal followers venture to the far reaches of the galaxy to establish The Foundation in an attempt to rebuild and preserve the future of civilization. Enraged by Hari's claims, the ruling Cleons – a long line of emperor clones – fear their grasp on the galaxy may be weakening as they're forced to reckon with the potential reality of losing their legacy forever.
