In the series premiere, fashion designer Betsey Johnson takes a stab at reviving her career by teaming up with Steve Madden, who has bought her corporation. Although she won't be running the business side of things, Betsey will still be the creative director for her brand. However, not having full control is completely new territorial for the fashion visionary. Meanwhile, Betsey's daughter Lulu is tired of living in her mother's shadow and begins work on her own clothing line with her best friend Allison.

Rebrand Spankin' New
Betsey Johnson may be nearing 70, but her spunk would prove otherwise! The fashion guru has less than a month to put together 90 outfits for a retrospective fashion show, which also showcases several of her current branded looks to celebrate her 70th birthday. But the job is so overwhelmingly huge, she decides to hire back her old assistant Brandon to help make sure the event goes flawlessly. Meanwhile, Lulu's new fashion line is becoming a strain on Betsey's wallet when Lulu can't pay her own bills! Will the financial burden tear this mother-daughter duo apart at the seams?

Right Hand for the Job
Betsey is on the hunt for vintage pieces for her upcoming fashion show which have been tucked away at the Johnson's Hamptons home. She drags Lulu out of the city--but her daughter struggles with the trip as the Hamptons reminds Lulu of her failed marriage. Then, an old flame attempts to reconnect with Betsey, much to Lulu's disapproval. Will sparks light up again between the two? Meanwhile, Lulu receives news about her fashion line. Find out if it will make or break the deal.

Ny Stakes & La Quakes!
It's crunch time as Betsey has just a week to find 30 energetic models for the biggest show of her life! Thank goodness her assistant Brandon is in New York to help her, because she is also booked on a personal appearance all the way across the country in Los Angeles. But what makes everything more stressful is her downright fear of earthquakes and flying, so the trip to California may just be a bumpy one! Plus, Lulu is traveling with her as she's snagged a sit-down with licensing guru Andy Cohen who's willing to discuss her new clothing line.

Walk Down Vintage Lane
Despite all of Betsey's stores being closed this year, she's still determined to make a splash during Fashion's Night Out. But will her empty storefront attract any fashion-goers when other top-name designer parties in NYC are beckoning? Meanwhile, as the sole investor in her daughter Lulu's company, she begins to question Allison's contributions to their partnership. However, butting into her daughter's business may mean butting out as her best friend.

Biggest Show of My Life
Betsey is putting the final touches on her epic runway show and 70th birthday celebration, and she proposes having Lulu pop out of the cake at the end. Meanwhile, Lulu meets with a potential business partner about launching her own line, but does she really have everything in order now that she's on her own? Then, the day of Betsey's fashion show arrives--complete with drama and a big name celebrity singer!

5 O'clock Somewhere
Betsey decompresses after her runway show of a lifetime with a calmed down birthday dinner with Lulu--or so she thinks! Betsey can't relax too long because she has to shoot a retro-themed photo for her website. Meanwhile, Lulu and Betsey attend a therapy session and hash out old issues that are being brought up. However, it only leads to learning some valuable information about Lulu's health.

Betsey Takes Tokyo
In the season finale, Betsey needs some inspiration for her next project and decides she and Lulu should take a spontaneous trip to Tokyo! They first need to brush up on their Japanese etiquette and that doesn't come as easy as they expected. Then, Betsey and Lulu take the town by storm on a shopping spree--but only one is left feeling satisfied. Will Betsey put on a halt on her fun vacation and finally acknowledge Lulu is in need of a serious talk?
