Yorkshire Coast
Dan Walker and Helen Skelton head to Yorkshire's coastline to enjoy jaw-dropping scenery, visiting some iconic locations and venturing off the beaten track to uncover hidden gems. Dan and Helen uncover the
dark past of village Robin Hood's Bay, and also hop aboard the volunteer-run Runswick Bay Rescue Boat to find out what it takes to keep locals and day trippers safe at sea. The pair also take in the beautiful town of Whitby and majestic Whitby Abbey.
North York Moors
Helen Skelton and Dan Walker continue their walking adventure with an exploration of the majestic North York Moors, famous for its expansive heather moorland, historic landmarks, and a surprising array of gastronomic treasures. Their journey begins in the picturesque village of Hawnby, before some horticultural therapy at Helmsley Walled Gardens. Helen enjoys a pony trek across the stunning North York Moors, while Dan uncovers the secrets of the imposing 12th-century Cistercian monastery Rievaulx Abbey.
West Yorkshire
Helen Skelton and Dan Walker explore more breathtaking landscapes, venturing into Brontë Country. Here, they explore the vast moorlands and picturesque villages that inspired the world's most famous literary family - Charlotte, Emily, and Anne Brontë. Their journey begins in the charming village of Haworth, where they visit Ponden Hall. Next, the pair head into the rugged moors to visit Top Withens, the iconic spot said to have inspired the Earnshaw family home in Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights. And while Helen heads to Moor Lodge Farm to work with a championship sheepdog trainer, Dan teams up with a forager to hunt for hidden edible treasures.
Herriot Way
Dan Walker and Helen Skelton follow in the footsteps of All Creatures Great and Small author James Herriot as they explore the breathtaking natural beauty and uncover the hidden delights of Swaledale and Wensleydale along the Herriot Way. Their journey starts in the village of Keld - renowned for its abundance of stunning waterfalls - before climbing to the intriguing ruins of the superbly named Crackpot Hall. Their journey continues to Bolton Castle in the village in Redmire, before rounding things off at the stunning Semerwater for a picnic with a difference - deep-fried Wensleydale.
Yorkshire Wolds
Dan Walker and Helen Skelton complete their tour with a trip around the wonderful Yorkshire Wolds. The duo start by the coast in Filey before heading to the wildlife haven of Filey Dams Nature Reserve. Dan heads off the beaten track to meet historian Dr Emma Wells to reveal the mystery of the vanishing village at Wharram Percy. Helen turns engine driver as she ventures onto the tracks at the Yorkshire Wolds Heritage Railway. Then Helen and Dan reach their final destination - the modern marvel of the Humber Bridge.
