Michiru Kita is able to see a ring around a persons neck as they approach death. When she see's the ring on the necks of two boys in her class she seeks to warn them making a startling discovery. Before the day ends, she see's something about herself that shakes her to her core.

Are You Gonna Die?
Shito and Chika investigate disappearances happening at their school. They ask Michiru for help but she is more worried about the ring she has seen around her neck while looking in the mirror. However when a friend of Michiru goes missing she decides to help find her friend.

A Dead Man's Tongue
Michiru having moved out off her relatives home, goes to work for the Zombie-Loan office. Chika, still claiming to just be using her because of her Shinigami eyes starts introducing her to the various people who work at the Zombie-Loan office.

Butterfly's Flutter
Chika runs into an old acquaintance, Reiichirou Shiba. Shiba then helps Chika and Michiru out of a jam. Shiba follows them back to the Z-Loan office where problems occur. A new addition to the office is also introduced that will help with a upcoming job.

Sacrifice
The Z-Office invesitages the mysterious Butterfly group. Koyomi and Michiru are mistaken for two of "Butterfly's" members due to the symbols on their shirts.
