Episodes
Mile Hi Makeover
Making this space a real retreat starts with trashing the tub that takes up half the room. In its place is a large, unique, steam shower featuring pebbles on the floor, sleek glass tiles on the back wall, and multi-colored blue octagonal tiles on the front wall to produce a rain drop effect. The entire shower space is accessed from glass doors on each side. The shower floor pebbles flow outside the wet area to form a faux moat with LED lighting, then segues into planks of hand-scraped eucalyptus wood flooring for the remainder of the room. The shower is flanked on each side by storage cabinets with a special make-up mirror and hidden bench seat for her. Across from the storage cabinets sit his and hers furniture-style vanities with curved drawers and granite tops with built-in sinks. Clear glass pendants are suspend above each. The ceiling is layered with planks of reclaimed white-washed wood veneer, and a large window is set to provide a beautiful vista of the Rocky Mountains.
Construction Grade to Upgrade
Bath Crashers doesn't do beige, so a construction grade space is the perfect project to tear down and start over. Goodbye golden oak and hello to new, modern materials and amenities. A sleek soaking tub replaces the ugly corner jetted one that never go used. A two-person shower with waterproof TV is added for extra entertainment. LED lit trim and solar tube mix modern and natural light and a cocktail bar with butcher-block countertop completes this once boring bathroom's new transformation.
Basement Lounge
A small basement bath takes on a pleasing decadence by first expanding into the laundry-utility room. That makes the space big enough to handle a deep, jetted, soaker tub right next to a huge walk in shower with a simulated wood wall and big shower bench. A unique shelf system made with belts provides space to place sundry bath items in the wet areas. Across the room a long vanity floats off the wall with rectangular vessel sinks and is topped with a large mirror that features built in storage. There's also a separate make-up/vanity area for her and a cozy bench nook where one can sit and catch the news or sports on a built-in TV over a cup o' joe or wine. The ceiling features a conversation piece art sculpture made from wooden tubes of varied diameters and lengths. Vinyl plank flooring simulating wood is easy on the feet and eyes and makes for easy clean-up too.
Black and White Vintage Wetroom
An ultra small arts and crafts home bathroom is turned into a massive wet room that features vintage luxury. A large claw foot tub sits next to an ethanol-burning fireplace wrapped in overlapping sheets of silver-enameled metal. Across the way is the walk-up, glass-less shower area with two massive rain heads to soak under. The walls are 4x18 white subway tiles, while the floor is black-and-white hexagon tiles to add to the vintage feel. The shower and sink fixtures are period pieces and enhance the turn-of-the-century ambience, while the vanity frame is formed with chrome pipe fittings, a black counter top, and two milk-glass sinks with exposed plumbing. Around the corner in the dry space is storage created from threaded steel rods and wood shelving, and an out-of-sight area for the toilet to complete the space.
Bath Goes to Blog 2014
The Bath Crashers crew take on a small cottage and add the ultimate bedroom suite to the second floor. There's a teak accented shower with multiple sprays overhead, a gorgeous soaking tub set in front of a picture window, a custom concrete and walnut vanity, a mirror with a hidden TV and an energy efficient toilet. The bedroom features tons of custom storage, a one of a kind headboard and wall art that is directly inspired by the lake. A sliding bookshelf door leads to a private library sanctuary off the bedroom. This is the perfect place to curl up with a cup of coffee and a good book. The entire suite has amazing lake views, making it a perfect year-round sanctuary.
Blue White and Beautiful
A bathroom better described as a powder room becomes a huge master bedroom spa. It starts with his and her vanities that are sleek furniture pieces that feature drawers that can be compartmentalized in a variety of ways for storage. There's also a lap drawer to extend her vanity into a separate make-up area; and both feature shelves with electrical hookups to keep things tidy. A deep, oval soaking tub sits atop a herringbone wood floor. Nearby is the large walk-in shower with large faux Carrera marble tile and a convenient bench. A private water closet features a separate sink, and a large closet system gives the homeowners plenty of storage for linens and clothes. Crown molding encases the entire new space, finished off with a cozy, ethanol-burning fireplace on the tub wall, which also shows off aesthetic sconce candle lighting done as a DIY project.
Mediterranean Mood
A short, small, narrow bathroom and the master bedroom are razed to become a huge multi-functional spa flavored with Mediterranean accents and flair. The focal point is a walk-in shower in the center of the space with a large rain showerhead and body sprays. A cedar screen provides privacy on one side of the shower while storage cubbies and a unique water feature with a DIY valance enclose two other walls of the wet space. There's a large makeup vanity for her with a DIY cedar beam wrapped with more than half-a-dozen pendant lights suspended directly above. A long double-sink vanity with DIY basket weave cedar doors provides clean-up outside the shower, and the entire floor is laid with classy, durable, vinyl tile planks. Cedar planks line part of the ceiling outside a separate powder room built especially for guests complete the transformation.
Granite Getaway
This tiny bathroom with blue tile everywhere needs to be crashed, and fast! Stealing hallway space allows each area of the new bathroom to have its own designated room. The tub and shower spaces are separated by a full piece of glass and are enclosed by a curved stacked granite wall. The floors are heated for comfort and decorative acrylic panels provide privacy, yet allow for natural light to spill in from windows in the hallway.
Cool, Copper and Concrete
These two bathrooms are separate yet open to each other at the ceiling and they need to be torn down and made into one killer space that fits with the style of this midcentury modern home. The new design features a jetted tub with a concrete deck, copper front and a perfect view of a wall mounted TV. The shower is separate, bigger and surrounded in sleek modern tile and glass. The walls are covered in birch while the floor gets a stained concrete finish. The vanity is a double concrete trough sink, which sits next to an LED lit piece of art glass etched with a fun surprise for the homeowners.
Skylight, Starlight and Stained Glass
This bathroom is not only big in size; it has big problems. The red tub and matching red sinks are just a few of the many things wrong with this space. Gutting it and starting over will fix the problem. Dark stone tile, custom ash cabinetry and barn-wood create the new palate. A double shower and massive jetted tub help fill the space. Skylights, a stained glass window and star-lit wall feature brings in special lighting while an ethanol-burning fireplace and heated stone counter-tops at the vanity are added for warmth.
Copper Screen
A small, outdated, pink tile bathroom expands into a large adjoining room to become a warm, inviting spa with contemporary finishes and amenities. The old bath becomes an entire shower area with body sprays set in linear copper tile and a large ceiling-mounted rain head. The main bath area features 'his' and 'her' vanities on opposite sides of the room, flanking a huge, deep soaker tub. More copper tile covers the entire tub wall, in the middle of which sits a pierced copper window covering that slides on a track for privacy. A geometric arbor crafted from bamboo suspends from the ceiling over the vanities, and allows light to bathe the bath from a large, new skylight.
Candlelit Grotto
This construction grade bathroom is in need of a spark. Bath Crashers throws out the old and brings back the new in a cool way. Carrera and bold mosaic patterns fill every corner of this room. The new soaker tub sits underneath a ceiling feature of flowers lit by LED's. The shower is made bigger and given a window looking into a modern candle-lit 'fireplace' while the perimeter of the bathroom glows with custom LED crown molding.
Walk-Through Wetroom to Luxurious Lounge
An old, tiny bathroom expands to become two unique spaces accessed by a walk-though cabinet with privacy glass. The dry space features a huge vanity with a large and low-profile sink, teak shelving, teak flooring, and a reverse-coffered ceiling dotted with pin lights. Pass through the cabinet, which features plenty of linen storage, into a large wet room, highlighted by a huge soaker tub, two rainshower heads and body wands, and large slabs of tile on walls. A slate tile floor adds a nice accent to the warmth and of the teak, including a teak bench for relaxing in the new spa.
