From their studio overlooking the Park Stage, Clara Amfo and Lauren Laverne bring you all the stories from the first couple of days on site, and they look ahead at what's to come- with headline performances over the weekend from Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA. And they're joined by special guests and a couple of unique performances in the BBC Park Studio.

Clara Amfo, Lauren Laverne, Jack Saunders and Jo Whiley are live at Glastonbury Festival as it really gets underway on the first full day of music.

They introduce performances from across the site, including at the West Holts stage for legendary girl group Sugababes, who, in 2022, shut down the Avalon field with one of their first reunion shows; pop star Anne-Marie, who takes on the Other Stage a year on from the release of her album Unhealthy which included a collaboration with Shania Twain; and, at the Pyramid Stage, hits from the expansive back catalogue of Paul Heaton, who performs solo at the festival for the first time.

Also, they chat to some special guests and have a unique intimate performance in the BBC Park studio reflecting the wider festival line-up.

Huw Stephens presents two artists making their return to Glastonbury Festival.

Former front man and founder of The Housemartins and The
Beautiful South Paul Heaton takes to the Pyramid Stage for the first time solo. Expect classic hits from his considerable discography and treats from his latest record, N.K-Pop.

Second up is London pop trio Sugababes, who grace the West Holts Stage, performing at the festival once again as their original lineup and for the first time since the release of their album The Lost Tapes. With a catalogue of pop anthems including Overload and Push the Button, this will be a set with plenty of crowd sing-a-longs and brimming with girl power.

Friday Night, Part 2

Jack Saunders and Jo Whiley are live from Glastonbury Festival as they get ready to welcome the first headliner of the weekend, pop superstar Dua Lipa.

There is plenty to come before that with the return of ever-evolving musician PJ Harvey, who released her tenth album I Inside the Old Year Dying in 2023, as well as New York dance-punk pioneers LCD Soundsystem, who are both performing on the Pyramid Stage.

There's also a short film about the new installation in Arcadia, one of the most-loved areas of late-night Glastonbury. The Dragonfly, a giant biomechanical creature, has been built using an ex-military Royal Navy helicopter.

Meanwhile, Clara Amfo reports from in front of the Pyramid Stage, soaking up all the excitement ahead of Dua Lipa's highly anticipated headline set.

where they last appeared in 2022.

Known for their raucous live shows, the band have recently released their fifth album, Tangk, which scored them a number one and which sees the band subvert expectations with a new, softer, more ‘loving' sound on parts of the album that sit alongside tracks with plenty of fury and aggression, the like of which their fans have become accustomed to.

As they bring the Other Stage to a close on day one, expect some serious energy from their expansive back catalogue, with some new moments of tenderness.

Dua Lipa, Grammy and BRIT Award-winning global superstar and purveyor of pop bangers, steps out as the first Pyramid Stage headliner of Glastonbury 2024. She returns to perform on Worthy Farm for the third time, having made her debut in 2016 swiftly followed in 2017 by a momentous set, which she refers to as a career highlight.

Now she graces the Pyramid Stage in the top spot as one of the biggest artists in the world, fresh off the back of the release of her third album, Radical Optimism. The record, which scored her another number 1, is filled with pop bangers like Houdini and Illusion, and saw Dua work with celebrated producer Kevin Parker of Tame Impala. She's promised to turn the Pyramid field in front of her into a dance floor, so get ready for an unmissable party.

Huw Stephens introduces soulful multi-instrumentalists Jungle, who are sure to be the perfect Friday night West Holts headliner.

The London-based group just keep on rising, scoring a top five with their latest album, Volcano, last summer, they have got huge dates planned for this year at London's O2 Arena and Manchester's Castlefield Bowl later in the year, and they walked away from the 2024 BRIT Awards with the gong for Group of the Year.

Ten years after they first played at Glastonbury, and now with four albums worth of feel-good hits like Back on 74, Busy Earnin and Keep Moving under their belts, if you are looking to dance and for some great vibes, this is the set to soundtrack your evening.

Kicking off are two artists who make their Pyramid Stage debut, pop icon Cyndi Lauper, who'll have the crowd singing Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and Mercury Prize winner Michael Kiwanuka, whose soulful vibe is the perfect soundtrack to a summer Saturday afternoon.

Then, over to the Other Stage for global popstar Camila Cabello, who releases her third album, C, XOXO, the day before she makes
her debut at the festival. UK folk duo sisters The Staves are in the studio for a special performance, and there's a look at the festival's first dedicated South Asian space, Arrivals.

Prepare to be wowed as she crosses the Atlantic to Worthy Farm with armfuls of hit songs from her two genre-bending albums, 2017's CTRL and 2022's SOS, and beyond.

SZA also becomes part of a historic Glastonbury moment as two of the Pyramid headline slots in 2024 are held by women, a first for the festival.
